  • We add information about the respiratory support required by patients admitted to critical care units. It is divided into 3 categories: invasive ventilation, extracorporeal oxygenation (ECMO) and noninvasive support. This information is visible on the main page in the form of a tooltip of "ICU hospitalized patients" as in the new screen Respiratory support.
  • We've replaced the term "Rate of cases confirmed" with "IA7" on all screens.
  • In maps we have differentiated a new category of IA7 above 400, both in counties and municipalities.

    1. The "AGES" tab where you can consult the data and a graph of the main epidemiological indicators by age in groups of 10. The default setting shows the evolution of two groups (over and under 50); but any age group can be added. We used a different method to report the number of patients admitted to the ICU in this tab, and it may differ from that shown in the "ICU" tab as it includes the self-reported data for each hospital every few hours without age disaggregation.

  • Elimination of post-vaccination serological cases

    Today’s update introduces a change in the criteria for defining serological cases, which are those diagnosed by a positive result on an ELISA test or a rapid antibody test. These two tests detect antibodies against COVID-19, so that they indicate that the person has already overcome the infection (these are not active cases but old ones).

    For this reason, they have never been used on to monitor the evolution of the epidemic, nor are they taken into account in the calculations of epidemiological indicators (IA7, IA14, Rt, RR, positivity, etc.). These cases are only shown as a cumulative total in the "Accumulated confirmed cases" box tooltip. Antibody tests are positive in people who have already had the infection but also in those who have been vaccinated.

    For this reason, as of today, those positive results to an ELISA test or a rapid antibody test that have been performed after the administration of the first dose of the SARS-CoV-2 vaccine will not be considered as cases. There are currently 47,792 confirmed cases for antibody detection, of which 5,898 are subsequent to the administration of the vaccine and therefore as of today are excluded from the count. For this reason in today's publication there are fewer accumulated cases than in yesterday's, but the monitoring indicators will not be altered as they have always been based only on cases diagnosed by PCR or RAT.

  • The data in the vaccination tab have been adapted to the new features introduced in update 5 of the vaccination strategy of the Interterritorial Health Council:
    1. Prioritization groups by age are defined by year of birth and not by age at the current time. For example group 5A (80 years or older) now also includes those born in 1941 who are still 79 years old
    2. It is considered that people aged 65 and under should only receive a dose of vaccine if they are diagnosed with COVID-19 prior to administration (previously this criterion was applied only to people aged 55 or under).
  • As of today, you can check the % of vaccinations by priority groups. Collectives will be included as they are called for vaccination.
  • We add vaccine download files by county, municipality and ABS. They contain new information such as the product administered or the reasons why vaccination has been ruled out.

  • We publish a new screen that collects the evolution of positive cases for RAT in symptomatic patients. These data, unlike the total cases, are consolidated on the same day of the operation. They can be used to advance the trend of the cases by a few days.
